POSITION: Treasury Accountant
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Cash Management
- Monitor daily cash transactions and maintain accurate records
- Forecast cash needs and coordinate with departments to ensure sufficient finds for operations
- Process and reconcile patient refund transactions
2. Bank Relations
- Ensure good relationships with banks and financial institutions
- Coordinate with banks to ensure smooth and timely processing of transactions
- Negotiate terms and conditions for banking services to optimize benefit for the hospital.
3. Bank Reconciliation
- Conduct weekly bank and mobile money reconciliations to insure accuracy in financial record.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
- Keep updated bank statements and report any irregularities
4. Cash Handling procedures
- Maintain effective cash handling procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies related to cash transactions
- Implement and monitor security measures for cash handling
5. Reporting
- Prepare Accurate and timely financial report related to bank and cash transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits
- Prepare patient refund float report
- Prepare daily cash collection report
- Prepare daily bank and cash balance report
6. Compliance
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting principle and hospital policies.
- Stay informed about changes in financial regulations effecting cash and banking activities.
7. Training and Support
- Provide train and support to staff involved in cash-handling process
- Foster a culture of financial responsibility and accountability with the organization.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- He/she must have Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- CPA/ACC or Equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.
- He/she must have Three years of Experience as accountant
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in accounting software (ERP)
- Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Clear and Concise communication
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Team Collaboration and adaptability
- Knowledge of financial regulations and confidentiality
