National Bank of Rwanda (BNR) Overview

The National Bank of Rwanda (NBR) was established in 1964 with the aim of issuing the Rwandan currency named Franc Rwandais (Frw). Over the years, the role of the NBR has evolved. The current Law N°48/2017 of 23/09/2017 as amended to date, confers a clear mandate on the NBR with a mission of ensuring price stability and a sound financial system. Price stability is achieved by conducting appropriate monetary policy in the interest of a stable macroeconomic environment, while financial stability is achieved by regulating and supervising the financial system.

Job Description

Reporting to Manager, Project Management, the Senior Project Manager will lead the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, reporting, and closure of assigned projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead project initiation, planning, resource allocation, and budget management to ensure the projects meet their intended objectives, are completed within scope, time, and cost parameters and adhere to quality standards.

  • Manage and direct multi-disciplinary professional teams, ensuring alignment with governance and quality frameworks to achieve key milestones and deliverables.

  • Proactively identify project risks and issues, recommend mitigation strategies, and implement solutions.

  • Monitor and evaluate project performance, including scope, budget, risk, and change management, and provide regular updates to senior management.

  • Prepare and present comprehensive project performance reports, adhering to the National Bank of Rwanda's Project Management Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Foster and maintain effective stakeholder relationships through consistent communication, negotiation, and issue resolution to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.

  • Organize regular project team meetings to track progress, address challenges, and document lessons learned to inform future project execution.

  • Collaborate with technical teams and subject matter experts to ensure quality project outputs and compliance with budgetary requirements.

  • Contribute to business requirements documentation and support change management processes as necessary.

Job Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree and PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in managing IT and Construction projects

  • Demonstrated experience in managing the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure
