JOB OPPORTUNITY: ACCOUNTANT

Position: Accountant
Location: LWD Headquarters, Kicukiro, Kigali City.
Reports To: Finance Manager | Matrix: Head of Operations
Job Type: Full-time

Learn Work Develop (LWD) is hiring an Accountant to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our financial operations, ensuring compliance, and supporting impactful programs.

About LWD:

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets, and provide financial insights for decision-making.
Fund & Grant Management: Monitor financial activities for donor-funded projects, ensure compliance, and oversee fund allocation.
Accounting & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile bank statements, and process transactions.
Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to local tax laws, international accounting standards, and NGO-specific regulations.
Cash Flow & Risk Management: Manage cash flow, prepare forecasts, and implement financial controls to prevent risks.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus).
Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience (preferably in an NGO or nonprofit).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.), Microsoft Excel, and financial analysis.
Personal Attributes: High ethical standards, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team.
Preferred: Knowledge of international accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), experience with donor-funded projects, and fluency in Kinyarwanda and English.
