Job Title: Boiler Operator
Job Summary:
Responsible for operating and maintaining steam boilers and associated equipment in a corrugated plant and Soap Plant, ensuring efficient and safe production of steam for plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor steam boilers, feedwater systems, and condensate return systems.
- Maintain boiler logs, records, and perform routine checks.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot boiler issues and perform repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with production team to meet steam demands.
- Optimize boiler efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in boiler operation or maintenance.
- Boiler Operator Certification (e.g., ASME, NBIC).
- Knowledge of steam systems, thermodynamics, and boiler safety.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corrugated plant operations.
- Familiarity with PLC controls and automation systems.
- Certification in steam system design or engineering.
- Experience with energy management and conservation.
Work Environment:
- Industrial setting, corrugated plant.
- Exposure to noise, heat, and hazardous materials.
- Shift work, including weekends.
Skills:
- Boiler operation and maintenance.
- Steam system management.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving.
