Senior ID System Administrator

Job responsibilities

• Configure, Maintain and provide technical support for existing NIDA systems;

• Install and configure server operating systems;

• Monitor the performance of servers, software and hardware;

• Ensure the smooth deployment of new applications;

• Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes;

• Evaluate, test, and deploy all software and hardware upgrades to the server;

• Administrate, monitor and maintain computer networks and related computing environments, including servers, computer hardware, systems software, applications software, firewalls and all configurations;

• Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements;

• Maintain logs related to servers as well as maintenance and repair records;

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues;

• Provide daily support to systems users;

• Train systems users and set up their accounts;

• Prepare technical specifications of IT equipment relative to software required;

• Generate regular reports related to ID production and civil registration;

• To recommend on relevant software upgrades where necessary and provide technical advice in procurement of software;

• Provide daily support to stakeholders;

• Train stakeholders and set up their accounts;

• Define and model data requirements business rules and operational requirements for online services;

• Collaborate on information gathering, documentation and process flow for new services to be added on different platforms;

• Prepare and perform use case tests prior to service deployment on different platforms;

• Follow up with the implementation of NIDA services on different platforms;

• Investigate and collaborate with government platform; on change required after services are deployed on different platforms;

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports on status of NIDA Systems;

• Advise supervisor accordingly.

• Knowledge of cloud services including but not limited to AWS, Microsoft Azure, google cloud, IBM cloud, Oracle cloud

• Knowledge of Database command of SQL and SQL server tools

• Knowledge in practices, process and procedures relevant to system administration

• Knowledge in systems disaster recovery and redundancy
