3. Purpose of the Job and main responsibilities
The purpose of the job is to support the office of the Director of Legal Affairs in matters related to loan protection and securitization with a specific focus on credit guarantee transactions.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide legal advisory services on credit guarantee transactions and contractual matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents to safeguard the Bank’s interests.
- Conduct and supervise legal due diligence exercises for credit guarantee transactions.
- Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations, advising on their impact on the Bank’s operations.
- Prepare and submit reports to the Manager as required.
4. Working relationships
- Internal: All departments (collaborating on legal aspects of transactions and operations).
- External: Regulators, and other stakeholders as required
5. Professional, academic qualifications, and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in law (master’s degree is an added advantage).
- Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in transactional law practice.
6. Core competencies
- Strong expertise in collateral laws,credit guarantees and contract negotiation.
- In-depth knowledge of Rwandan laws and judicial processes.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
