Job Purpose/Mission

Ignite Access Rwanda is seeking talented, motivated Accountant to join our rapidly growing team. This position has a key role within the Finance Department in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager in making timely payments that will support all departments to effectively execute their daily operational duties.

The accountant will also provide timely and accurate financial information by managing invoices, disbursements and Mobile money as well as adhering to processes/systems and controls to ensure best practices.

This role will be an important aspect of helping Management monitor and assess operational expenses and distribute resources accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing: Verify, process, and record invoices to ensure they match purchase orders and receipts, avoiding duplicate or unauthorized payments.
• Payment Management: Schedule bank payment to uphold financial commitments and maintain vendor credibility.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including tax requirements.
• Vendor Relations and Reconciliation: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, resolving any discrepancies or disputes effectively, and professionally.
• Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely customer EBM invoices are issued based on sales orders and contracts.
• Payment Processing: Track and process incoming payments, including checks and transfers.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Collections: Monitor customer accounts for timely payments and follow up on past-due invoices to minimize overdue receivables.
• Customer Communication: Respond promptly to customer inquiries regarding invoices and account status, maintaining positive relationships.
• Reporting: Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports for management reviews, such as the daily collections report.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams to resolve billing discrepancies and improve the receivable account process.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge and skills Experience:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting

Qualifications:

?+ Bachelor´s degree in Finance or Accounting

Language(s):

• English
• French is a plus

Technology:

• Very strong excel skills.
• Experience with Odoo accounting software is a plus.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong sense of urgency and deadline driven, dynamic, self-organized, and team-player
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs
